Mother Teresa ‘saint’ or lost sinner?

“I love all religions. … If people become better Hindus, better Muslims, better Buddhists by our acts of love, then there is something else growing there.” Or in another place, “All is God — Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, etc., all have access to the same God.” – Mother Teresa

We see, then, that Mother Teresa held beliefs that contradict many Biblical principles. Chief among these principles is that Christ is the only means of salvation. In John 14:6 Jesus states, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” By teaching that all religion could bridge the gap between man and God, Mother Teresa taught principles completely opposed to the Bible. At the same time she taught a bizarre “pseudo-pantheism” in which she believed Jesus was present in everyone. She said, “When we destroy an unborn child, we destroy God”

With such a statement we can only be left believing that she was more than a Catholic, but was a Universalist, believing essentially that all religion leads to the same God. Time and again we see her expounding such universalist beliefs. In an interview with Christian News a nun who worked with Mother Teresa was asked the following in regards to the Hindus they worked with, “These people are waiting to die. What are you telling them to prepare them for death and eternity?” She replied candidly, “We tell them to pray to their Bhagwan, to their gods.”

    • Amen Brother!

“Not by works of righteousness which WE have done, but according to HIS mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost!” [Titus 3:5]

  1. Thank you, dear brother, for writing truth, but how few want to hear it! I wrote truth on a comment page of a English newspaper, but there were many complaints, so I was banned. But we know God will have His way, and He will cause those He wants to read what He chooses. Christ is sovereign!

Keep writing truth, dear brother Mike.

    Love in Christ, English Rose

    • Thank you for your encouragement dear Sister. I am so proud to call you my Sister in Christ. Keep up the good work. The Word of the Lord to the prophet Ezekiel is the same to us today –

“And He said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against Me: they and their fathers have transgressed against Me, even unto this very day. For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God . And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.” [Ezk 2:3-5]
