SEEK THE HONOUR THAT COMETH FROM GOD ONLY

A Christian farmer who visited a city and went to eat at a fine restaurant. When he received his food, he bowed his head and quietly gave thanks to God. Some rowdy teenagers at the next table sneered and said, “Hey farmer, does everybody do that where you live?”

The old farmer looked at the young man and calmly said, “No, son, the pigs don’t!”

And think of it, all the mocking pigs and dogs of the world who poked fun at Christian sheep won’t be doing that for very long! That’s right! That’s what the Master said! “Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. But blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. And Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake . . . Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets!” [Luke 6:20-26]

So do not be ashamed of your Lord dearly beloved or afraid to show folks you’re a Christian. Remember what Christ said, “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
And again, “If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will my Father honour.” [John 12:25,26]

So quit trying to please men and seeking THEIR honour, but rather as your Lord did seek the honour that cometh from God only!” [John 5:44] You’ll be glad you did!
