WHY I CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE A ‘BREAK’ FROM PREACHING THE GOSPEL
That is not to say that I keep preaching because I love Christ so much, far from it; but ‘the love of Christ’ in me for His sheep constraineth me or compels me to do what I do. So if you want thank someone for our posts you should thank the Lord who makes it all possible.
And at times even when it gets so discouraging that I tell myself “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name.” yet “His Word is in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I get weary with forbearing, and I CANNOT STAY!” [Jer 20:9] which in our present day English would translate “I can’t keep my mouth shut!” Go figure . . .
But men like us are in good company though, and it’s all thanks to the Lord Jesus and nothing in US whatsoever!
And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. [Acts 4:18-20]
“The old truth that Calvin preached, that Augustine preached, that Paul preached, is the truth that I must preach today, or else be false to my conscience and my God. I cannot shape the truth; I know of no such thing as paring off the rough edges of a doctrine. John Knox’s Gospel is my Gospel. That which thundered through Scotland must thunder through England again.”— C. H. Spurgeon
And what thundered through Scotland and England must now thunder throughout the whole world with the help of the Internet by God’s enabling! “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts!” [Zech 4:6]
“The Lord gave the Word: great was the company of those that published it!” [Psalm 68:11]
“And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come!” [Matt 24:14]
Even so come Lord Jesus! Amen! [Rev 22:20]
