THE BANNER OF TRUTH COMPROMISE
A wonderful Article by Rev. Ronald Hanko exposing the man pleasing compromise of the Banner of Truth publishers.
In their publication of A.W. Pink’s ‘The Sovereignty of God‘ three whole chapters are missing from the original edition. The chapter entitled “The Sovereignty of God in Reprobation” is missing but so are two others entitled “God’s Sovereignty and Human Responsibility,” and “Difficulties and Objections.” Not only that, but four lengthy appendices (18 pages of the fourth edition as published by Baker Book House) are also missing from the Banner edition, appendices which are by no means unimportant. The titles alone will indicate to any discerning reader how important they are: “The Will of God,” “The Case of Adam,” “The Meaning of ‘Kosmos’ in John 3:16,” and “I John 2:2.”
What is more, large sections of other chapters are also missing – in many cases whole paragraphs, and in others sentences and words. By our count 94 of 269 complete pages of the fourth (Baker) edition are missing and 241 of 525 paragraphs, not including missing words and sentences. More than half of the book, therefore, is missing in the Banner edition, the only edition generally available to British readers.
A must read Article for all those who love the ‘Reformed Faith’. It also gives us an indication of how many big-time publishers and ministries have no regard for the Truth but make every effort to ‘suppress it in unrighteousness’!

yes, indeed, we were shocked to discover what Banner of Truth had cut out from AW Pink’s wonderful Book, The Sovereignty of God. What an audacity! They should now be called “The Banner of Lies” Thankfully, a complete copy of Pink’s book can still be obtained from Baker Book House Co.
We need to be aware that other Books are being tampered with, and altered, including changing the KJV to a modern version, when the authors Bible was the KJV.

Thank you for your article exposing the Banner of truth and we agree with Rosefen~they should be called the banner of lies! I have Baker’s house edition and have order a few copies a few years back to pass out to younger believers, so they can have the truth, just as Pink wrote it. We are living in the days of the “man of sin” who now rules in the professing churches of Christ, called by CHrist~”Judea”, and saints should flee from them.

Will I ever visit that site again…I can’t guarantee that I won’t if they have something profitable for me there, but the chances are far far less than they were a few days ago. And the dominos keep falling down.
I own many King James 1611 AV Holy Bibles and one older than the King James Bible is the Geneva Holy Bible 50 years before the KJV!!

I have Pink’s commentary on the Gospel of John
This explains a lot. I heard a sovereign grace preacher say that the Bible does not teach a decree of reprobation!!! I could scarcely believe my ears!! And I know that many so called Calvinists distance themselves from Pink precisely on this issue. What blindness and hypocrisy, a decree of election inevitably implies a decree of reprobation. And those who do not want to preach the latter are pleasers of men rather than of God.
Thank you for having made these sad facts known.
Banner should probably have renamed themselves because they only stand for partial truth these days, having joined with many others in a dilution and populist dumbing down of theology in general and of Five-Point Calvinism in particular. We are certainly moving to a phase when anything even remotely Calvinistic is being disowned by mainstream writers and publishers, under the pretence of that much used, but never properly defined, scare-word ‘Hyper-Calvinism’. Proof of this can be found in the fact that the truly great, but much maligned, John Gill, is all but out of print in his home country, with, needless to say, nothing at all available from the likes of Banner.
